Dear Parents/Carers,
Re. Extra Teacher Training Days July 22nd & 23rd
With the end of term fast approaching we felt it necessary to inform you of two extra teacher training days which will take place at the end of this school year not previously published on the school calendar.
The impending move to academy status from September requires certain whole staff training and both the Department for Education and the Sponsor have requested this extra time in order that the academy opens in September with all staff training complete.
Stoke Local Authority have also been consulted and feel that this transitional training does constitute an extraordinary event and is therefore allowed within the Educational School Day Regulations.
Therefore Blurton High School will close to students on Wednesday July 21st at 2.00pm. Staff will report for training on Thursday July 22nd 2010 & Friday July 23rd 2010.
We hope this does not cause you any inconvenience and would like to wish you a restful summer break.
