Welcome to the Blurton High School Website

We will continue to develop this site as a central point of contact and communication between Blurton High School Business & Enterprise College students, parents, teachers and the general public.

In these pages you will find information on the school curriculum, policies and achievements as well as much more. You can navigate the entire site by using the menu on the left.

Blurton High School’s status as a Business and Enterprise Specialist College has encouraged a spirit of endeavour throughout the school and I am pleased to say that this specialisation is intended to continue on into the proposed new Academy.

This new Academy, for which we have been identified as the predecessor school, will not only be purpose built but will also embrace state of the art teaching and resources.

Ormiston Trust intend to put forward an expression of interest in becoming the sponsor of the Academy. Their aspirations are ones I whole-heartedly support.

“Our vision is that of a society where every child and young person feels valued, safe, and free from prejudice, isolation and stigma”. (Ormiston Trust)

The consultation process for the design of the Academy will involve both the community and the school. I believe that in working together we will create an educational provision for this area in which we can be justifiably proud.

I work with a dedicated and enthusiastic team and I give a heartfelt commitment that, collectively, we will achieve real success for those placed in our care.

Our demands are high and so are the expectations. To support these high expectations of behaviour and work, the school has strong support mechanisms for the pupils. Both our staff and pupils are often complimented by visitors to the school on the polite, happy and considerate manner of our student body. This is a very real measure of success and one in which the school community is understandably proud.

I take pride in being the Headteacher of Blurton High School Business & Enterprise College. We have laid solid foundations for continued progress, and the staff and Governors are committed to achieving the challenging targets that we have set ourselves.

The choice that you, as parents, are about to make is a difficult one. We simply wish to assure you of our total commitment to making your child’s high school years a positive, happy experience, as well as an exciting, challenging and fulfilling one.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

R Balukiewicz
